TRUCK CHASSIS ENGINEERING

INDUSTRY:  Commercial Vehicle, Finite Element Analysis, Crashworthiness Durability

Developed a commercial truck chassis by supporting the structural validation and subsystem development of a commercial vehicle chassis platform with multiple configurations—accommodating various wheelbases, engines, transmissions, axles, and frame designs. The goal was to ensure structural integrity, fatigue life, and modular adaptability across the lineup.

  • Modal analysis and modal map generation
  • Suspension loads (jounce, tramp, brake windup) via inertia relief
  • Inertia load analysis (lateral, longitudinal, vertical)Handling loads: aggressive turns, bogie twist, racking
  • Tow-pin and tow-hook non-linear analysis (various pull angles)
  • Suspension model development and correlation
  • Subsystem modeling: fuel tank, battery tray, engine mounts, skid plate, etc.
  • Fatigue life assessment using strain-life method
  • Bolt analysis for slip, shear, and axial loads
  • Optimized chassis for structural integrity across variants
