Development of custom cab over engine with stainless steel body and aluminum door

  • Designed stainless steel cab body with aluminum doors, focusing on structural strength and weight reduction (achieved 40 kg masssavings).
  • Performed modal analysis and design sensitivity analysis to optimize cab vibration response.
  • Conducted roof strength analysis in accordance with SAE J2422 and validated front pendulum impact per ECE R29 Test A and B requirements.
  • Evaluated cab mount strength, seat and seatbelt anchorage (for both fixed and air ride seats), and overall strength and durability of critical components including steps, handles, and brake pedal.
  • Analyzed door structure for: Sag and set, Upper frame deflection, Hinge strength, Slam durability, Hyper-extension safety latch, Wind load performance
  • Engineered shear pin design through analytical calculations; ensured no shear and no cab deformation during operation.
  • Assessed hydraulic cylinder loading at various cab tilt angles.
