TRAILER RV ENGINEERING
INDUSTRY: Recreational Vehicle, Finite Element Analysis, Durability
Complete engineering of a next-generation EV trailer RV featuring an all-new telescopic composite body structure, with full durability simulation of the body and chassis.
- FE model build of the full trailer, including the chassis, custom chassis components, axles, suspension, and an all-new composite body structure.
- Modal and durability analysis to identify potential areas of stress concern, and drive structural improvements across the chassis, composite tub, and telescoping canopy.
- Evaluation of the telescoping pop-up mechanism under wind load-induced deflection, ensuring structural stability and stiffness in the deployed state.
- Composite and adhesive joint engineering, including layup sequencing, bonding strategy, and stress/failure analysis.
- ASTM testing support, including D638 (tensile), D3846 (interlaminar shear), D2344 (short beam strength), and D790 (flexural properties), to validate material inputs for structural simulation and design.
- Isolator bolt sizing and interface evaluation for mounting the composite structure to the chassis.
